Portarlington Earthmoving Moyston Short Course Recap – 6th September 2025

The Moyston Short Course kicked off on a crisp September morning, drawing a dedicated crowd of off-road racing enthusiasts to the Geelong Off Road Buggy Association’s (GORBA) track near Ararat.

🏆 Outright Winners

Father and son duo, Glenn and Blake Pike (#675), clinched the outright honours after a day of hard-fought heats.

🏁 Class Winners

Class 6: Aidan Campagnolo & his mother Stacey (#666) secured the top step of the podium, finishing 1st on Saturday’s race. It was a Class 6, 1st and 2nd finish, with Cameron Grayson and his navigator Bailey Farley (#697) taking out second place only 20 seconds behind Aidan & Stacey  . Class 1: Dean Bennett (#87) led the field with consistent lap times and strategic driving. Class 2: Rod Visser (#114) demonstrated exceptional control and speed, earning him the class victory. Class 3: Kyle Deacon (#69) showcased impressive agility, securing the top spot in his class. Class 4: David Nikiforoff (#106) maintained a steady pace, clinching the class win. Class 5: Colin McLaren (#47) capitalized on optimal track conditions to finish first in his class.

GORBA prides itself on family involvement, competitive and social friendship, vehicle preparation, and racing opportunities. The club hosts and conducts events at the Avalon Short Course Track and at the longer track at Moyston, near Ararat .
